The history of acai berry finds itself deep rooted in the folk- lore of the people of Amazon and the modern states that now have their habitat in that area. According to a legend the acai berry saved a local clan living in the rain forests of Amazon and from then this berry found its place. The Acai palm tree grows in tropical areas and one of the most vital places it grows is Brazil. It has always been an excellent food in Brazil and other South and Central Yank nations. It is a little purple berry that grows on the Acai palm and is harvested right from the tree. It is famous for its really high nutritive content and provides many health advantages for people who include it in their diets. The tree is itself is reasonably tall and produces about 40-50 pounds of fruit a year.
The trees sometimes produce fruit twice a year. The acai berry has been pronounced as 'ah-sigh-ee' in existence for a number of years. The berry did not find its place in today's world till the 1990s.
